Vintage 18k WG Linen Dial AP
Some time ago, I was burdened by an enviable prospect: buying a timepiece with a budget of a few thousand dollars. And it so happened that I was scheduled to attend a business meeting with a certain titan of industry. The details are of little importance. For our intents and purposes, let’s just say that this individual could afford and attain any Patek Philippe he desired. The question I found myself asking was: What watch could I possibly find, for under ten thousand USD, that wouldn’t make me feel inferior when sitting across from the owner of our national Patek AD? The answer I arrived at is the watch before you.
I was so pleased with my answer that, given the chance, I bought two examples of this watch. This version with the linen dial has fine, subtle, yet charming lugs and is truly a delight to wind.
Sold Out: Yeah. I had me a couple of AP’s, now I have none. And this little guy, he was my first. I do believe I sold well, and the proceeds will move me closer to my grail, but darn it, this is one timepiece that I will sorely miss.
