Rolex Submariner 14060m

Okay, so I caved and bought a Submariner. How mainstream of me. The thing is, that in my subjective eyes, I bought the best submariner. At least for this price bracket. In case you’re wondering, no, I didn’t get a good deal, and if I could have any Sub I wanted, I’d probably go with an Explorer dial 5513.
I’ve been in the game long enough to know that I prefer the size, feel, and aesthetic of vintage four-digit Subs over the modern six-digit bling bombs with their omniperfect bracelets. Mind you, that a modern Sub’s bracelet truly is something special, but it’s also oh so shiny. As is the watch itself. Then again, a vintage Sub is something you don’t necessarily want to get wet, and their bracelets are like something the cat dragged in.
In comes my 14060m. Truly one of the last to feature only two minimalistic lines of text. I don’t appreciate having the Magna Carta inscribed on my watch dial, and, while I’m at it, I’m no fan of the cyclops (so no date for me). Yet I got me some Super-LumiNova, a sapphire crystal, and a great movement. The bracelet is still dog pooh, but my intention has always been to wear this one on a strap, making it all the more mundane and older-looking.
Hey, I don’t care what you think, it’s my Rollie and I can do what I want.
