Marilla’s Doxa

This was a neat watch to discover, as it belonged to my wife’s father’s mother, Marilla Mozes (Née Wolfowitz, 1910-1967). Marilla was born in Poland, survived the Holocaust, and eventually made her way to Israel. And though she died before my wife or I were even born, there is something treasurable about having this memento from her.

I have yet to be able to date this timepiece precisely, but I believe it is possible that it actually originated with Marilla’s mother, Sarah Wolfowitz (Née Fogel).
