Vintage Automatic Omega Seamaster Tropic Dial

I love vintage Omega watches, much more so than their modern counterparts. I reckon they are amongst the coolest watches you can find today, per dollar and overall. The original Seamaster series, which grew from the original 1948 model and serves as the basis for the modern Aqua Terra family, is even more appealing to me than Omega’s dive watches and chronographs. There’s just something about the sport-elegant style of these watches, their nonchalance. I think this is in large part due to their modest dimensions relative to the brand’s contemporary watches.
This timepiece comes with a black dial that has aged wonderfully and developed a lovely, “tropical” patina. It’s noteworthy just how uniformly this patina has occurred. It’s powered by Omega’s superb automatic cal. 562, and its case is in excellent condition. I paired it with a Delugs Sand Alcantara strap that highlights the text on the dial in remarkable fashion, maintaining an original Omega buckle, of course.
